125 kg of palm sugar, grocery items seized from workers canteen in Sattur

Food Safety Officers on Thursday seized 125 kg of palm sugar and grocery items without proper labeling from the workers’ canteen of a cement factory in Sattur on Thursday.

The officials, led by Designated Officer, S. Mariappan, found colour pappadams and other goods that did not have proper labelling. The goods were seized. As the two canteens run on the premises did not have FSSAI licence, the officials ordered their closure.

The team also seized banned tobacco products from a tea stall near Upathur junction.
