The 13th State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday approved investments worth ₹20,444 crore which are expected to generate employment for 56,278 people, taking the total investments cleared in the 13 SIPB meetings held so far to ₹8.29 lakh crore.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Naidu said reputed companies were coming forward to invest in Andhra Pradesh impressed with the government’s Speed of Doing Business policy — the provision of amenities like water, electricity, and land, and the transparent manner of business facilitation.
“What happened during 2019-2024 caused trouble to some Singapore Ministers and the companies whose cooperation helped in giving Amaravati a tangible shape in a short period earlier. If such a hostile atmosphere returns, investors will prefer to go to other States. However, we managed to resurrect out brand image, and the positive response can be seen,” he observed.
The Chief Minister told the officials to ensure that foundations were laid for the projects for which MoUs were signed in the CII Partnership Summit – 2025 within 45 days, while noting that ₹7.69 lakh crore of investments tied up there were moving towards implementation. Grounding of the projects would help the government in mobilising more investments at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting scheduled to be held at Davos-Klosters from January 19 to 23, 2026, he observed, and wanted foundations to be laid for 75 MSME Parks before the WEF got under way.
Mr. Chandrababu Naidu ordered the officials concerned to see that there were no disputes in acquiring land for industries and to evolve a mechanism for continuous monitoring of the projects. He also told them to set up an advisory body for Quantum Valley for the sake of mentoring and raising venture capital and suggested that an action plan be prepared for creating a Sovereign Fund of ₹500 crore for investing through government companies.
IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said approvals were being given for projects after a thorough scrutiny and told the officials to keep up the government’s commitment to giving various clearances and incentives without any hassles.
Ministers T.G. Bharath, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, P. Narayana, Kandula Durgesh and Anagani Satya Prasad and Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand were present. Ministers B.C. Janardhan Reddy, Payyavula Keshav, and K Atchannaidu attended virtually.
