Fourteen people sustained injuries after an APSRTC bus heading to Srisailam from Nuziveedu overturned at Maddalakatta village in Peda Araveedu mandal of Prakasam district on Friday (November 28). The bus had 25 passengers.
According to police, the driver lost control of the bus (AP 39Z 0358) near bypass road at Maddalakatta village, and it overturned in an adjacent field around 11.45 a.m.
A majority of the passengers were from other States. Seven are from Kolkata (West Bengal), four are from Bellary (Karnataka) and eight are from Visakhapatnam. Among the injured, six have suffered fractures.
The injured were initially admitted to a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Dornala, but were later shifted to the Kurnool Government Hospital for better treatment. A case was registered against the bus driver under Section 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligent behaviour.
