The Kochi City police have recorded 20 cases of alleged sale and use of narcotic substances during a special combing operation conducted on Saturday (November 22, 2025) at various locations. A total of 185 cases under different charges were registered during the drive, and action was taken against 168 individuals.
As many as 117 people were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, and 21 cases were registered under the Abkari Act. District Police Chief (Kochi city) Putta Vimaladitya said the drive will continue in the coming days.
As many as 49 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act during the drive last week.
