5-year jail term in POCSO case

The Special Court for POCSO cases here has awarded 5-year imprisonment to four persons for sexually harassing a 11-year-old girl.

According to prosecution, D. Dinesh, 33, M. Esakkimuthu, 33, S. Stalin, 38 and M. M. Durai, all from Nazareth, sexually harassed the girl in 2015. The Kulasekaranpattinam police arrested the fours under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Magistrate of Special Court for POCSO Cases Preetha awarded 5-year rigorous imprisonment to Dinesh, Esakkimuthu, Stalin and Durai on Wednesday and slapped a fine of ₹2,500 on them.
