Thoothukudi Collector K. Elambahavath on Monday said that around 60% of the total voters in the district have been distributed with SIR forms so far.
Addressing the media at the district Collectorate, he said that after the completion of SIR forms distribution, the collection of the forms will begin in the district on November, 13, where the polling station officers will begin collecting the forms. Between November 13 and 25, the polling station officers will visit about 60 to 75 houses per day to collect the completed forms.
The collector added that on November 15 and 22, the polling station level officers will be available at the respective polling stations to assist the voters in filling out the SIR forms. Volunteers from āIllam Thedi Kalviā scheme, trainers of SHGās and other staff from panchayats, municipalities have been engaged in the process to help the voters.
He further urged the voters to link the mobile numbers with voters list, noting that this can be done using the form 8 if not already linked.
Mr. Elambahavath noted that out of the total 14.90 lakh voters in the district, 8.91 lakh persons have been distributed with SIR forms so far.
