A ‘Public Safety Integrated Operations Centre’ was inaugurated at Mydukur in Kadapa district on Thursday.

Mydukur MLA Putta Sudhakar Yadav, who sponsored the facility with his personal funds, inaugurated it in the presence of Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Kurnool range) Koya Praveen and Superintendent of Police Nachiket Vishwanath Shelke.

The facility installed at the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police gets feed from 77 advanced cameras to be fitted across the town. It focuses on ensuring women’s safety, traffic management and movement of anti-social elements.

“In tune with the department’s slogan of ‘Invisible police – Visible policing’, we have embraced technology to a large extent to monitor the situation from our facility,” Mr. Praveen told media persons.

Mr. Nachiket thanked the MLA for extending ₹20 lakh required for the project, adding that the funds helped in bridging the gap to overcome the shortcomings in putting the necessary infrastructure in place.

Additional Superintendent (Admin.) K. Prakash Babu, Deputy Superintendent G. Rajendra Prasad, Mydukur Municipal Commissioner Ranga Swamy also took part.
