The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, held its 26th convocation ceremony on Friday, with 87 midshipmen of the 109th course awarded BTech degrees.
Ten cadets from Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Bangladesh were among those who graduated. V. Narayanan, Secretary, Department of Space, and Chairman of ISRO, conferred the degrees in the presence of parents, faculty, and senior naval officers.
The ceremony, attended by INA Commandant Vice-Admiral Manish Chadha and academy staff, marked the completion of the midshipmen’s training in Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, under Jawaharlal Nehru University.
The curriculum, officials say, prepares young officers to handle advanced naval technology, network-centric operations, and emerging maritime warfare systems.
Dr. Narayanan congratulated the graduates and administered the convocation oath.
He also presented the Chief of the Naval Staff rolling trophies to the best performers — Midshipman Vishnu K.K. (AEC), Midshipman Rishav Kumar (ECE), and Midshipman Arjun Singh (ME).
