Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division, Lalit Bohra, on Sunday, inspected Kottavalasa and Shrungavarapu Kota railway stations and the section to review the progress of ongoing developmental works, including Amrit Bharat Station Scheme works, infrastructure development, and passenger amenities.
The DRM was accompanied by senior divisional engineer (coordination) A.K. Moharana, senior divisional engineer (south) B. Sairaj, along with officials from various departments. During the inspection of Railway Colony, he inaugurated a newly developed Shuttle Badminton court.
At Kottavalasa railway station he inaugurated a newly constructed rest room for women employees of the Civil Engineering Department .
The DRM also participated in a safety seminar held at Kottavalasa station, that focused on welding techniques, safety precautions, and the importance of adhering to safety protocols during welding operations. The seminar was attended by Civil Engineers, Permanent Way Inspectors (PWIs), gangmen, and gangwomen.
Later, Mr. Bohra inspected various activities of the ongoing Amrit Bharat Station works and reviewed the progress of the projects. He inspected the station yards at Kottavalasa and Shrungavarapu Kota stations and observed the safety inspection of railway tracks using the Ultra Sonic Flaw Detector (USFD). He interacted with the officials to assess their working knowledge and safety practices.
He also reviewed the functioning of the Rail Borne Maintenance Vehicle (RBMV), Shrungavarapu Kota, which is designed for rapid on-track infrastructure maintenance including track, bridge, and signalling works. The RBMV is equipped with a hydraulically operated crane for lifting heavy materials and a working platform for inspection and maintenance of bridges and overhead equipment. The DRM also interacted with the technical staff to gain insights into its working and operational efficiency.
