The Congress government is striving to develop urban infrastructure to provide improved civic amenities in urban local bodies, said Minister for Revenue and Housing Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. He was speaking during a road show in the poll-bound Yedulapuram municipality of Khammam district on Tuesday. Mr. Reddy appealed to the voters to elect the ruling Congress party candidates in the February 11 municipal elections to usher in accelerated development of Yedulapuram and other urban civic bodies. “The Congress government will continue to work with renewed commitment to steer the State on the path of progress and ensure welfare of all,” he said, outlining the State government’s flagship welfare schemes including the Indiramma Housing programme.
He slammed the previous BRS rulers accusing them of showing callous apathy towards poor and downtrodden sections during their nearly 10-year rule.
