An all-party meeting on the rationalisation of polling booths was organised by the district administration here on Saturday (February 7, 2026).

The meeting chaired by the District Election Officer and Collector R. Sadheesh assessed the basic amenities at all polling booths. According to the administration, there were demands received from public and political parties seeking transfer of voters to another polling booth at a proximal distance.

Some of the polling booths that are housed in structurally damaged buildings in need of repair are either shifted to another building within the same campus or shifted to another government school in proximal distance. The details of the polling booths were distributed to the political parties.

A section of voters of 17 polling booths have been transferred to another polling booth in the same campus, 34 polling booths would get new buildings and nine polling booths would be shifted to a repaired structure in the proximity.
