Project Officer of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency, Paderu, T. Sripooja, has directed officials to make elaborate arrangements at Matsyagundam Shaiva Kshetram in Hukumpeta mandal of Alluri Sitharama Raju district in view of Mahasivaratri. She said departments concerned should work in close coordination to ensure that the annual festival is conducted in a peaceful and incident-free manner.
Ms. Sripooja inspected the temple premises on Friday and later held a coordination committee meeting with officials of various departments. She said the Mahasivaratri celebrations will be held from February 14 to 16 and a large number of devotees are expected to participate.
In view of the anticipated heavy rush, she instructed the Police Department to put in place comprehensive security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents. She also directed the departments concerned to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity, proper sanitation, separate facilities for women, necessary road repairs and smooth regulation of traffic.
