A migrant labourer from West Bengal died after getting trapped in a mud-mixing machine at a brick kiln near Paramakudi here on Friday.
Police said, a brick kiln owned by Kasinathadurai is operational in Siragikkottai village near Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram district.
More than 10 migrant laborers are employed there. On Friday, while cleaning the mud-mixing machinery, a worker identified as Shaktipada Das, 46, from West Bengal got caught in the machine and died on the spot.
His body was sent to Ramanathapuram Government Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The Nainarkoil Police have registered a case regarding the incident and are currently conducting an investigation.
