The Chittoor district Police on Tuesday (February 24, 2026) conducted an awareness programme “No to Drugs” at the ZPHS Government School in S.R. Kandriga village of Palasamudram mandal.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Tushar Dudi and Additional SP Rajashekar Raju supervised the programme, while Palasamudram Sub-Inspector Rajashekar Reddy addressed nearly 300 students on severe consequences of drug abuse.

He warned the students that narcotic substances can irreversibly damage the physical and mental health of young people and derail their education, family life, and social future. The SI said that addiction often begins casually but gradually destroys discipline, ambition, and moral values.

Mr. Rajasekhar Reddy urged the students to cultivate positive habits, focus on academics, sports, and yoga, to set clear goals for a secure future. The police appealed to the students and the public to promptly report any information related to drug consumption or illegal trafficking, assuring complete confidentiality.

As part of the awareness drive, students participated in slogan-raising and essay-writing competitions to promote a drug-free society.

Headmistress K. Haritha, teachers, and police personnel were present at the campaign.
