LPG consumers feel the heat of West Asia war

Even as LPG consumers are feeling the pinch due to short supply of gas cylinders, fuel stations too may go dry within a couple of weeks due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

On an average, an LPG delivery man can deliver around 40 gas cylinders to customers daily. A truck carries 344 LPG cylinders per trip and the entire load is delivered the same day. “Each dealer in the district would receive a minimum of one load [344 cylinders] everyday, and most of the dealers, especially in urban areas, would get two or three loads of cylinders from oil companies based on their consumer base. Now, after the war started, the supply has become erratic as most of the dealers are getting only one load once in two or three days. The erratic supply has badly hit the distribution of gas cylinders, particularly commercial cylinders, to consumers,” said a delivery man of Indian Oil Corporation.
