Karur Aavin announces ₹1 per litre of milk as special incentive to member farmers

Karur Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, popularly known as Karur Aavin, on Friday announced that it would offer a special incentive of ₹1 per litre of milk to suppliers for two months.

In a statement, Collector K. Ravikumar said Karur Aavin procured about 65,000 litres of milk through 150 cooperative milk societies per day. There was a possibility of decrease in average milk procurement due to the heat during summer period, thereby leading to revenue loss to farmers. To compensate for the loss, a special incentive of ₹1 per litre of milk, in addition to the regular procurement prices and incentive, would be provided to the suppliers, who were attached to the Aavin milk societies. It would be applicable only in March and April.
