An RTI response from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has indicated groundwater and air quality concerns around Vellalore dump yard in Coimbatore, based on surveys and laboratory analysis carried out in February 2026.
The reply, issued on March 18, 2026, to K.S. Mohan of the Kurichi-Vellalore Pollution Prevention Action Committee, pertains to samples collected on February 12 and 13 and analysed at the Advanced Environmental Laboratory, Coimbatore.
