The district administration has declared a local holiday for all government offices and educational institutions in the district on April 6 (Monday) in view of the Arulmigu Muthumariamman temple festival at Narthamalai.
However, the local holiday will not be applicable for the office of the District Election Officer, offices of the Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer and they would work as usual on April 6 since it was the last day for the filing nominations in the Assembly election, an official release said and added that the local holiday will also not be applicable to officials involved in election work.
Government offices and educational institutions will work on April 18 (Saturday) in lieu of the holiday declared on April 6.Â
