The Road Transport Authority RTA, Visakhapatnam Region, has collected ₹62 lakh in penalties and booked 202 cases against private travel operators for violations of motor vehicle rules during enforcement drives carried out between Dasara 2025 and March 31, 2026. As many as 19 buses were seized during this period.
In a recent 10-day special drive conducted this month till March 31, targeting contract carriage(CC) buses, officials registered 16 cases and imposed fines totalling ₹6,94,000. The inspections were aimed at curbing safety violations and ensuring compliance during the busy month-end travel period.
