Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has said the United Democratic Front (UDF) will de-notify the land acquired for the SilverLine rail project if voted to power in the Assembly elections.
“Hundreds of people have been suffering as they are not able to mortgage their land for taking loan for their personal requirements as the Left Democratic Front government has not yet de-notified the land, despite its decision not to go ahead with the project,” he said at the release of the UDF’s manifesto for the elections here on Thursday.
Mr. Satheesan said the UDF would review the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) as it had now become an agency to release the advertisements of the LDF government. He said the UDF would revive the LIFE Mission project for the homeless by coming up with special projects for the SC/ST communities and fisher folk.
He said the UDF would cancel all back-door appointments made by the LDF government just before the declaration of the Assembly elections. “We will ensure that appointments for contract vacancies are made through the State Employment Exchange,” he said.
