Pooja Jomon, who resigned as president of Poothrikka panchayat and as an elected member of Twenty20, on Wednesday dismissed allegations that a “deal” with the United Democratic Front (UDF) was behind her decision.
Twenty20 president Sabu M. Jacob had alleged that Ms. Jomon was offered ₹5 lakh in cash and another ₹7 lakh to clear her debts, along with an additional ₹5 lakh, to step down and strip Twenty20 of power in Poothrikka, a move he claimed was made with the knowledge of V.P. Sajeendran, the UDF candidate in Kunnathunadu constituency.
