Free transport facilities have been arranged for persons with disabilities and senior citizens in Chennai district to enable them to cast their vote in person on polling day.
Eligible voters can avail the service by registering through the Saksham app or by contacting the district helpline 1950 or the control room at 1800-425-7012, according to a release. The initiative is aimed at ensuring accessible and inclusive polling, with dedicated support extended to assist voters in reaching polling stations across the district, it added.
