Kanniyakumari District Collector R. Alagumeena on Thursday said that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) used during polling process across the six constituencies of Kanniyakumari district have been securely stored at University College of Engineering in Konam and during the counting 14 tables would be set up for each constituency for the counting.
Addressing a press conference in Nagercoil, she said that counting in the Kanniyakumari constituency would be taken up in a maximum of 26 rounds. Nagercoil, Colachel and Padmanabhapuram constituencies would each have maximum of 23 rounds of counting Colachel, while Vilavancode and Killiyoor constituencies would have maximum of 22 rounds each.
