The Coimbatore Consumer Cause has brought to the attention of the officials concerned the delay in implementation of the Coimbatore – Sathyamangalam green corridor road project.

K. Kathirmathiyon, secretary of the consumer organisation, said in a press release that the project has been pending for more than eight years. The alignment was approved on February 5, 2018 and the National Highways Authority of India issued Section 3A notification under the National Highways Act, 1956 on February 14, 2022. However, the Chief Engineer of the National Highways wing of the State Highways Department requested the NHAI on May 27, 2022 to transfer the project to the NH wing so that it can be implemented at the earliest.
