Situated near to the airport, and located at a short distance from the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, this property of the Residency Group of Hotels was inaugurated by Chairman Ravi Appaswamy.
In his address, he said, âWith The Residency Signature Madurai, we are presenting more than a hotel, we are paying tribute to the cultural soul of this timeless cityâŠ. We hope it becomes an enduring landmark that celebrates the spirit of the cultural capital of the South.â

Designed by Singapore-based architect Wong Chiu Man, the hotel reinterprets the iconic grandeur of Meenakshi Temple and there are nearly 300 intricately designed pillars drawing inspiration from the famed thousand-pillar mandapam.
From the lavish presidential suite, spanning nearly 2,000 square feet, to the executive suite, spread across 1,500 sq. ft, to the club suite that spans 899 sq. ft. and to the premium king room that is designed in a 446 sq ft space, the guests are spoilt for choice. For those travellers who would prefer to enjoy a more residential feel during an extended stay then the club lounge access gives a more refined layer of experience. The property comprises two distinct blocks, the luxury hotel and an expansive convention center.
Three restaurants
The hunger pangs of guests and visitors are met by three restaurants on the premises that are oases of gastronomical delight. Chithirai is an all-day dining restaurant, with an extensive a la carte menu that tantalises the visitors with the flavours of Madurai. During select hours there are also buffet spreads.
For those who love to indulge in the warm and earthy notes of oriental cuisine set in the right ambience, then Chin Chin Restaurant would be the perfect choice. But for those who want to revel in the multicultural flavours of India, the menu at the Grand Trunk Restaurant, which will open soon, has a well-curated selection of items.
Want to meet a friend or unwind after a long business day, then walk into the Eden Bar for casual conversation over a couple of drinks. To indulge in soft melt-in-the-mouth confectionery over a cup of piping hot coffee, the Krave Bakery is there to fulfill the desire.
Then there is the spa, the saloon, the swimming pool and the fitness centre for a holistic sensual experience.
True to their philosophy, âAlways Familiar, Distinctly Refinedâ, this new branch after Chennai, Coimbatore, Puducherry, Karur, Rameswaram and Maldives is all set to redefine hospitality in Madurai.
