Admission for Classes 1 to 5 for 2026-27 would begin within one month, says Theni Collector
Centre has sanctioned permission for setting up a Kendriya Vidayala school in Theni town.
Appointment of Principal and teachers have been made, said Theni Collector, V. Vaithinathan, said in a statement.
The demand for establishing a KV in Theni district has been there for several years and even land for the permanent building for the school had been identified on the District Collectorate Master Plan Complex, he added.
Till the permanent school building is constructed, the school would be temporarily housed on Theni-Allinagaram Municipal Primary School building.
The school would start functioning within 30 days and admission would be made for Classes 1 to 5 for the academic year 2026-27. Each class would have one section initially.
Based on the future requirement, the school would be expanded in phases on getting required administrative sanction, the Collector said.
