Achieving Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of 50 per cent by 2035, an NEP 2020 target, is possible through a collaborative strategy, V. Kamakoti, director, IIT-Madras said.

While speaking at the Sandipandi Vidyalaya School’s annual day on Sunday, Mr. Kamakoti said every higher secondary school student and their parents may talk to a minimum of 2-3 families from the marginalised communities and motivate them to enrol into higher education institutions, according to a press release.

“If this can be done by every student in each school and create a ripple effect, the target of 50 per cent GER by 2035 can be achieved,” he said. He also distributed prizes of school toppers and special prizes to teachers.
