Two held with prescription tablets, ganja

The police have arrested two persons on charges of possessing prescription drugs and 3 kg of ganja near Sirumugai. Sheik Dawood (24) and A. Sanja (22) were arrested during a check conducted by the police at Vellikuppampalayam near Sirumugai based on credible intelligence. The police seized 3 kg of ganja and 100 tablets of a prescription drug from them. They were remanded in judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the Madukkarai police arrested Gouranga Patra (32) from Odisha for possessing 1.1 kg of cannabis-infused toffees. He was produced before the jurisdictional court, which remanded him.
