First-stage randomisation and allocation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs, for by-election to Dharapuram (R) Assembly constituency was conducted on Saturday (September 12, 2026) at the Tiruppur Collectorate by District Election Officer and District Collector Manish Narnaware, in the presence of General Observer Amgothu Sri Ranga Naik and representatives of recognised political parties.
The lists in EVMs and VVPATs for the 320 polling stations in the constituency were shared with the representatives of the recognised political parties before being handed over to the Returning Officers/Assistant Returning Officers concerned for use in elections.
The EVMs and VVPATs were stored in the strong room on the premises of Government Arts College, Dharapuram.
The district administration informed the public that the Election Commission of India has appointed Anupam Majumdar as Election Expenditure Observer, and that he could be contacted over phone (7418362261) or in person at Room No. 1, PWD Department Guest House, Dharapuram, between 11 a.m. and noon every day.
