Man electrocuted, nine others injured in Ranipet

A 35-year-old agricultural worker was electrocuted, and nine others were injured when they were erecting steel poles that came in contact with a live overhead electric wire in Arumbakkam village on Tuesday.

The police said the deceased was identified as K. Rudhramurthy, 35, a resident of Arumbakkam village. He was married and had three children.

Rudhramurthy and others were erecting a tent using steel poles for a temple festival when the incident happened. He was rushed to a government health centre at Kalavai where doctors said that he was brought dead. A case was registered by Kalavai police and a probe is under way.
