At least five persons suffered severe injuries and 30 others sustained minor injuries on Thursday after a container lorry hit a bus, in which at least 50 people were travelling to Uppada after attending a wedding in Tuni. The wedding was held on Wednesday night.
“The bus was hit by a container lorry, leading to the overturning of the bus. At least five persons have received severe injuries and they are being treated in Tuni government hospital.” Tuni Rural CI G. Chenna Kesava told The Hindu, adding that nearly 30 others passengers received minor injuries and returned home by Thursday evening after basic medical treatment.
The bride and the groom were not in the bus on Thursday. The police registered a case and the investigation is under way.
