The release date of Rohit Shetty’s upcoming multistarrer comedy-drama, Golmaal 5, was announced by the makers on Saturday (September 19, 2026). The film will hit the screens on January 8, 2027. It stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles.

Rohit unveiled a new poster of the film to make the announcement on social media. He wrote in caption, “Laughter, fun, joy, happiness and family. Nothing else.”

The film was announced earlier this year in March with Rohit penning a long note. “20 years ago, the first ‘Golmaal’ was released, a film that changed my life. The credit goes to you, my audience. Over the past 20 years, we have entertained you, and yes, sometimes disappointed you, but we have always been honest in our work. So now, once again, my fabulous team and I are set on a journey to entertain you as we start filming G5. You have always loved and supported me,” he wrote.

Akshay has joined the franchise with the new outing. Sharman makes a comeback to the film after his appearance in the first part.

The fourth part, Golmaal Again came out in 2017 and was repackaged as a horror-comedy also featuring Parineeti Chopra and Tabu in the lead. The film did well at the box office that year.

Golmaal is one of the most successful Hindi comedy franchises. The first film was released in 2006, and the makers followed it with other instalments in 2008, 2010 and 2017. They all followed stories of how Ajay and his gang end up in hilarious situations and make their way out of them.

Rohit’s last directorial was Singham Again, which was released in 2024. Meanwhile, Ajay will be seen next in Drishyam The Conclusion, which completes the crime-thriller trilogy based on the acclaimed Malayalam films.
