Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure that the proposed airports at Adilabad and Warangal and the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi reflect the State’s history, culture, architecture and artistic traditions.
Mr. Reddy examined the designs of the Adilabad and Warangal airports and the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi and suggested modifications to some of the proposed structures.
Reviewing the progress of the three projects at the Secretariat on Tuesday, he said the designs should draw inspiration from Telangana’s architectural heritage, including the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam, Ramappa temple and Pillalamarri temple.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all supporting infrastructure works were taken up in coordination among departments so that the projects could be completed within the stipulated time.
Officials briefed him on the shifting of power lines, diversion of streams, realignment of roads, BSNL lines and drinking water supply pipelines in areas where the airports are proposed.
Mr. Revanth Reddy directed officials to construct roads along the airport compound walls and connect them to nearby district, State and national highways.
Officials of the Energy, Roads and Buildings, Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation departments were asked to coordinate with BSNL authorities and ensure that the required works were taken up simultaneously.
The Chief Minister also suggested that, wherever streams or other water flows had to be diverted, ponds could be constructed within or close to the airport premises to regulate and divert the flows. R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, MPs Vem Narender Reddy and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju were among present.
