The Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, in coordination with other government departments,k will organise a special camp for persons with disabilities at Chikkarampalayam panchayat community hall in Karamadai block on September 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The camp is to facilitate medical examination and certification for Unique Disability Identity (UDID) cards, new registrations and renewals, identification of beneficiaries for free surgery, receiving applications for educational assistance, maintenance allowance, bank loans, and assistive devices. Bus pass registration and renewal, and registration with the Welfare Board for Persons with Disabilities will also be facilitated.
Aadhaar enrolment and corrections and changes in name, address in ration cards will be taken up too for the beneficiaries. Those seeking a new UDID card should bring their Aadhaar card, ration card, four passport-size photographs and previous medical records, if any, along with the originals and copies.
