‘Love & War’: Ranbir Kapoor’s first look from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama unveiled

The first look of Ranbir Kapoor from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming period-drama, Love & War was unveiled by the makers on Thursday (September 24, 2026). Also starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, Love & War will be released in theatres on January 21, 2027.

In the first look poster, Ranbir dons a moustache look wearing shades and driving a blue car with his bloodied hand handing through its door. Sharing the poster, the makers wrote, “Woh rutba, woh raub, woh junoon! Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War on 21st January 2027. See you at the movies!”

The film has been billed as a period-romance which is set against the backdrop of war. It marks Vicky’s first collaboration with Bhansali while Ranbir is set to reunite with the filmmaker after 19 years since his big screen debut with Saawariya (2007). On the other hand, the film marks Alia’s second collaboration with Bhansali after Gangubai Kathiawadi(2022).

More details from the film are awaited.

The film was first announced in January 2024 for a Christmas 2025 release but got postponed to March 2026 which was further pushed to the current release date.

Meanwhile, Ranbir will be seen next in Ramayana, which will be released in theatres on Diwali. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the mythological epic also stars Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash in pivotal roles.

Alia’s last on-screen appearance was in Alpha, which was released in July and was a box office failure.
