Police sources said the complainant’s husband passed away on May 13, 2024, leaving her with a son. Then, her family members tried to arrange her remarriage.
Through a mutual acquaintance, S. Mohamed Bilal from Palakkad expressed interest in marrying her. Bilal obtained her phone number and began communicating with her.
When the complainant told her son that she had decided against marrying Bilal, the boy revealed an incident that took place at the complainant’s house when Bilal had visited to see the complainant’s elder sister’s daughter for a prospective marriage alliance. During his short stay in the house, Bilal inappropriately touched the young boy’s private parts.
Further, the victim said whenever the complainant was away, Bilal made sexually suggestive remarks to the boy. Based on the mother’s complaint, the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act. They said the accused was yet to be arrested.
