For the 2025 awards, B. Shivarama Shetty, retired professor with Mangalore University was chosen in the literature/research category, Kuddu Koraga, a Dolu (percussion) artist from Pangala in Udupi district was chosen in folklore category and Usha Bhandari, a theatre and cinema artist from Bengaluru was chosen under drama/cinema category.

Kinnikambala Padmanabha Rao (K.P. Rao), who developed Kannada keyboard and contributed to Tulu software was chosen under literature/ research category, Sudhakara Bannanje, a theatre and cinema expert was chosen under drama/ cinema category and Nemu Parava, a Daiva Narthaka from Keyyur village in Puttur taluk was chosen under folklore category for the year 2026.
The awards carry a purse of ₹50,000 and a plaque. The award ceremony will be held on October 4 at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru, said Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Taranath Gatti Kapikad in a release.
