The South Western Railway (SWR) will operate a special train between Bengaluru and Karwar (Madgaon) – Bengaluru to clear the extra rush of passengers during the long weekend of October first week.
According to a notification, Train No. 06597 Bengaluru Cantonment – Madgaon Express Special (train on demand) would depart Cantonment at 11.50 p.m. on Thursday (October 1) to reach Karwar at 4.50 p.m. and Madgaon at 6.10 p.m. on Friday (October 2). Train No. 06598 Madgaon – Bengaluru Cantonment Express Special would depart Madgaon at 8.40 a.m. and Karwar at 9.32 a.m. on Sunday (October 4), to reach Cantonment at 11.55 p.m. the same day.
The train would have one 2-tier AC, three 3-tier AC, 10 second class sleeper, seven general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.
On both the directions, the train has commercial halts at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, Bengaluru, Chikkabanawara, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, Bantwal, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapura, Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road, Ankola, Karwar and Canacona.
