Keralam government will extend all support to tech-driven enterprises: Kunhalikutty

The Keralam government will extend all necessary support to the younger generation seeking to establish enterprises, including technology-driven manufacturing ventures, Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty has said.

He was inaugurating the Kerala Young Entrepreneurs Conclave-2026, organised by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme, at Calicut Trade Centre here on Saturday (September 26, 2026).

Mr. Kunhalikutty said the confidence of young people who believed that they could achieve anything in the world was a major strength of the State. Artificial intelligence could help even small rural enterprises identify markets for their products across the world, he added.

Quality packaging and effective marketing could enable small-scale units in rural areas to access global markets, the Minister said. The government would organise regular campaigns and conclaves for young entrepreneurs and extend its support to them, he added.

International market

He said traditional products and food items from Keralam had considerable potential in international markets. With the commissioning of the Vizhinjam port, Keralam would be able to reduce transportation costs and facilitate the movement of its products to global markets, he said, referring to the State’s long history of overseas trade.

The government was implementing a ‘One State, One Approval’ policy to remove hurdles faced by entrepreneurs in obtaining approvals, Mr. Kunhalikutty said. Legislative amendments would be introduced to give statutory backing to the policy, he added.

The government was also working on creating a land bank for industrial purposes and addressing issues related to construction and land, the Minister said. He also referred to a recent order of the Industries department offering investment incentives, subsidies, and clearances to attract enterprises.

K. Jayanth, MLA, presided over the inaugural session in which the Minister also interacted with entrepreneurs and responded to issues raised by them. Industries Additional Chief Secretary A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish and representatives of around 1,500 MSMEs attended the event.

The conclave featured interactive panel discussions, experience-sharing sessions by successful entrepreneurs, and technology sessions. Around 40 stalls showcasing start-ups, technology institutions, banks, and government departments were also set up as part of the event.
