The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, recognised three people on Saturday (September 26) for their contributions towards the society as individuals.
Celebrating the Chamber Day in Coimbatore city, the trade and industry body presented its “Unsung Heroes” awards to A. Nagarajan for his efforts for three decades towards financial inclusion and sustainable livelihood creation; Vivek K.R. for serving as a mentor, empowering persons with spinal cord injuries towards rehabilitation and livelihood; and R. Duraisamy for nurturing trees, conserving water, and protecting nature. He had worked for reviving the Agraharasamakulam Lake after 28 years.
The Chamber also presented a certificate of appreciation to eight-year-old Adhirai M. Nachimuthu for authoring and publishing the book “Unicorn Quest”.
