The DEIC, in collaboration with Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, organised the event to fulfil the wishes of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Over 20 children undergoing treatment for neurodevelopmental disorders and defects at birth at the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), Institute of Social Paediatrics, Government Stanley Medical College Hospital (SMCH), received gifts at an event organised on Saturday.
The DEIC, in collaboration with Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, organised the event to fulfil the wishes of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Based on their wishes, gifts such as bicycles, swings, art and craft sets, high chairs for children with cerebral palsy, toys, and remote control cars were presented to encourage them during their treatment journey.
The aim of the initiative is to bring hope and happiness to children undergoing early intervention therapy for neurodevelopmental disorders, according to a press release.
SMCH Dean A. Aravind, director of the Institute of Social Paediatrics J. Ganesh, Medical Superintendent Jothi Kumar, Resident Medical Officer Vanitha Malar, and State Nodal Officer of the DEIC Thamarai were present.
Neda Saba S., chapter head, and Krishna Kumar N., chapter manager, Chennai, of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, took part, the release said.
