The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam has invited applications from eligible artistes and cultural troupes interested in presenting devotional music, dance, and other cultural programmes during the Dasara Sarannavarathri festivities at Indrakeeladri from October 11 to 20.
Temple Executive Officer V.K. Seena Nayak said the programmes would be organised as part of the festivities. Application forms are available on the temple’s official website. Applicants can download the form, fill in the required details and submit it to the temple authorities. The last date for the applications to reach the temple is October 5. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered, he said.
As per the temple rules, a maximum of six artistes will be permitted for each troupe, comprising the main artiste and five accompanying artistes. The same six members alone will be permitted as a group for darshan of the presiding deity.
Applicants have to enclose copies of certificates relating to diplomas, degrees or postgraduate qualifications in fine arts, details of their experience in the respective art form, newspaper clippings of earlier performances, photographs and appreciation certificates.
The main artiste must also submit a copy of the first page of the bank passbook, clearly showing the account number and IFSC code, along with the Aadhaar number and mobile phone number. Completed applications may be sent by post or submitted in person at the temple office. They may also be emailed to [email protected], he said.
The artistes proficient in classical music, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Harikatha, Bhakti Ranjani, bhajans, Burrakatha, Kolatam, drama and other traditional art forms can apply.
