A 70-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, who was undergoing treatment for injuries sustained after a tree branch fell on him in Royapettah last week, died on Sunday.
A senior officer of the City police said S. Ramanappa, a resident of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, had come to the city for personal work. He was walking along the Pattulos Road in Royapettah on Thursday near the Express Avenue mall when a tree branch snapped and fell on him.
He sustained a head injury and was taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital. On Sunday, the hospital authorities declared him dead.
