Sri Ram Sena founder Pramod Mutalik said its faction Ram Sena will shortly merge with the parent organisation, and they will jointly work for the cause of Hindus.
Talking to reporters in Mangaluru on Monday, Mr. Mutalik said he came to meet Prasad Attavar, who broke away from Sri Rama Sena to form Ram Sena, as he was unwell. During the meeting, Mr. Attavar expressed his desire to merge his unit with Sri Rama Sena. “The merger is necessary as part of the parent organisation’s expansion plan. Hindu organisations have to come together to fight for the cause of Hindus,” he said.
The State government has banned right-wing activists from delivering speeches during Ganeshotsava celebrations. He was barred from delivering speeches in Haveri and Sakaleshpura, while BJP leader K. Madhavi Latha was barred from delivering speeches in Bagalkote.
Accusing the government of taking action to harass right-wing activists, Mr. Mutalik said he supported the protest rally held by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at B.C. Road on Monday to condemn the invocation of the Goonda Act on six Bajrang Dal activists arrested in connection with the murder of Abdul Rehman on May 27, 2025.
