Man murdered after brawl in Vijayawada

An unidentified person was reportedly beaten to death by a mechanic on 100-feet road at Auto Nagar in Vijayawada on Tuesday.

Following a brawl, the accused, V. Hari Babu, smashed the head of the victim against the road divider, killing him on the spot, said Central Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police K. Damodar.

The accused has been identified as a native of Gullalamoda village in Nagayalanka mandal of Krishna district. He was working as a mechanic in Auto Nagar, said Patamata Circle Inspector (CI) V. Pavan Kishore, who is investigating the case.

Efforts are under way to trace the whereabouts of the deceased, the CI said.
