Development works worth ₹1.30 lakh crore underway in Andhra, says Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has announced that Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply (RWS) Departments are undertaking development works worth ₹1.30 lakh crore across the State.

He was addressing the gathering during the launch of the ‘Palle Panduga 3.0’ at Kakolluvaripalli village in Varikuntapadu mandal of SPSR Nellore district on Tuesday.

“With the cooperation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under the leadership of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, we are now set to drive rural development forward on a massive scale through the coordination of the Central and State governments. We are accelerating development works in rural areas through initiatives such as ‘Palle Panduga’ and ‘Jala Jeevan Mission – Amarajeevi Jaladhara’ programmes with an outlay of ₹50,000 crore,” he said.

The Chief Minister and Mr. Pawan Kalyan will lay the foundation stones for Multi-Village and Single-Village schemes worth ₹30,000 crore under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission – Amarajeevi Jaladhara’ programme on October 5, 2026.

Having completed Palle Panduga 1.0 and 2.0 programmes at a cost of ₹9,000 crore, Palle Panduga 3.0 was launched with an outlay of ₹11,085 crore.

As part of this initiative, the government is set to develop 6,000 km of CC roads, 9,500 km of BT roads, an additional 22,500 Mini Gokulams (cattle sheds), and fruit orchards spanning 50,000 acres. Also, development works such as constructing 1,000 km of ‘Magic Drains,’ bus shelters, Gram Panchayat buildings, and ‘Rachabandas’ (village community platforms) are bing taken up.

“As farmers are facing difficulties in transporting their produce to the market due to the lack of farm access roads, we will lay one rural access road in each Assembly constituency as a pilot project. Subsequently, we will prioritise rural access roads across 161 constituencies, improving connectivity,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said.

He said that the NDA government had completed nearly 9,000 km in just two years in comparision to the previous YSRCP government, which had constructed 880 km of CC roads in five years. “Only 304 Mini Gokulams were built previously, but we constructed over 30,000—nearly a hundred times more,” he said.

Additionally, as part of the ‘Palle Panduga’ initiative, development works tailored to the needs of 13,326 panchayats were undertaken. This included constructing 1.15 lakh farm ponds and developing fruit orchards across 2,00,000 acres. Work on 10,000 km of BT roads is progressing, he said.

“The NDA government has already completed 6,500 km of CC roads in SC, ST, and other colonies. To improve road connectivity to tribal villages, we set a target to construct 2,437 km of roads at a cost of ₹2,180 crore under the ‘Adivi Thalli Bata’ programme. Of this, we have laid over 1,500 km of connecting roads,” he said.

Through the ‘Palle Panduga’ initiative, the government has provided road connectivity spanning 111.4 km to 167 tribal habitations—specifically those belonging to the Banjara, Yanadi, and Erukula communities.
