DoorDash opens first India office in Hyderabad

DoorDash, one of the leading local commerce platforms globally, opened its first India office in Hyderabad on Wednesday (September 30, 2026) with plans to hire 500 people initially for the facility and raise the number over time to 3,000.

It will draw on Hyderabad’s deep talent pool and technology ecosystem while creating long-term career opportunities, the NASDAQ-listed firm said following inauguration of the office — which it calls Talent Hub — by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu in the presence of CFO Ravi Inukonda, senior director, Workforce Strategy and Talent Acquisition Operations Jenna Kohnke and others.

Hyderabad hub is third internal Customer Experience and Integrity service centre globally

The Hyderabad hub will be DoorDash’s third internal Customer Experience and Integrity (CXI) service centre globally, alongside those in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City. It will support global operations and help deliver reliable experiences for consumers, merchants and ‘Dashers’ across DoorDash’s geographies.

The Minister’s office said the firm will scale its headcount, at the facility, to more than 3,000 within the next two years.

With the office opening, Hyderabad has become India’s leading tech hub for hyperlocal digital commerce companies like Amazon, Walmart, FedEx, Zomato, Uber and Swiggy, driving their rapid scale of growth. DoorDash is among the world’s top three and number one in the U.S with over 65% U.S. market share and $100 billion in Marketplace Gross Order Value (GOV) in 2025. It operates in more than 40 countries.

DoorDash choosing Hyderabad to build capabilities to drive its rapid growth is a strong validation of how the city has evolved as a global talent hub. Hyderabad is a place where global digital businesses can build and run important parts of their operations for markets around the world, Mr. Sridhar Babu said.

Hyderabad hosts more than 500 GCCs and the government is targeting to add 100 plus new GCCs, creating over 1 lakh new high-value jobs and over 3 lakhs indirect jobs. More than 5 lakh people are currently working in GCCs in Hyderabad and this number is expected to touch 10 lakh employees by 2029.

“Establishing DoorDash’s first hub in India is an important milestone in expanding our global operations network,” said Ms. Kohnke. DoorDash will start operations in Hyderabad in October and plans to expand to a larger facility by April 2027 as its team grows.
