All three earthquakes were recorded at five sites of the KSNDMC Permanent Seismic Monitoring Station Network under the Master Control Centre (MCC): Almatti Dam Site, Raichur, T.B. Dam Site, Hidkal Dam Site and Thalakalale Dam Site observatories.

A mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was recorded near Basavana Bagewadi in Vijayapura district in the early hours of Wednesday, triggering concern among residents as it was the third tremor reported in the taluk this month.
According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), the earthquake occurred around 2.04 a.m. Its epicentre was located about 3.9 km northeast of Basavana Bagewadi town at a depth of 10 km.
Earlier, a tremor measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was recorded around 12.26 a.m. on Tuesday (September 29), with its epicentre located approximately 1.1 km southwest of the Dindwar gram panchayat office in Basavana Bagewadi taluk at a depth of 10 km.
Another mild earthquake, measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale, was recorded around 5.34 a.m. on September 17, with its epicentre located about 2.4 km southeast of Ingaleshwar gram panchayat in Basavana Bagewadi taluk.

The recurrence of tremors within a short period has caused concern among residents, who have called for a scientific investigation into the phenomenon.
