Thousands of devotees of Pydithalli Ammavaru are expected to have a hassle-free darshan during the annual Sirimanotsavam on October 27, 2026, thanks to the reconstruction of the temple, originally built in 1757. The Endowments Department has spent around ₹1.8 crore to rebuild the temple with wide queue lines and other facilities.

Devotees used to struggle in the narrow space of the old temple, but the new premises have ample space on all sides. Recently, the department acquired 218 square yards of private land adjacent to the temple to provide more facilities for devotees. Speaking to The Hindu on Thursday (October 1, 2026), Endowments Assistant Commissioner K. Sireesha said the additional facilities and the long and wide queue lines would help devotees have darshan peacefully even on festival days.

“We have provided another piece of land for the owners of a private building located adjacent to the temple. Their cooperation will enable the temple authorities to establish Prasadam counters. After darshan, the devotees can stay in the premises. The works at the adjacent premises will be completed very soon,” said Ms. Sireesha.

The temple authorities offered special prayers at the Pandiri Rata on the temple premises on Thursday, marking the start of the Sirimanotsavam festivities. The Tholellu festival will be celebrated on October 26, the day before Sirimanotsavam. More than two lakh devotees are expected to take part and offer prayers to the presiding deity on the two days.
