The release date of Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming comedy-drama Udta Teer has been postponed. The film, which was earlier set to be released in theatres on October 9, will now be released on October 23, the makers announced on Friday (October 2, 2026).
In a press release, the makers said that they wanted to give the film “a cleaner release window and a stronger theatrical runway instead of compromising on screens in a suddenly crowded marketplace.”
Its earlier release date would have placed the film just a week after the release of Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam The Conclusion, which is expected to work well at the box office.
Udta Teer features Ayushmann as a Pakistani spy, who loses his memory and gets listed as an Indian counter-intelligence soldier, confusing his Pakistani bosses. The film also stars Sara Ali Khan, Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe in pivotal roles.
The film has been written and helmed by Akash A Kaushik in his directorial debut. It is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain.
Ayushmann was last seen in the romantic-comedy, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which also starred Sara. Ayushmann also has Suraj Barjatya’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya and Sameer Saxena’s Mupapa in the pipeline.
